The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, June 17th, at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, officiated by Rev. Wayne Wilkerson. Joe is now with God, but forever remains in our hearts as he represents the true meaning of family, patience, devotion, accomplishment and unconditional love.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions in Joe's name may be made to the Brain and Spine Center at MD Anderson, www.mdanderson.org.

Alvarez
Joe Alvarez, Jr. was born on October 19, 1942 in Houston, Texas. He peacefully passed at home Tuesday morning with his wife and daughters at his side. Although he lived in many different places and traveled all over the world, Joe's heart and soul was rooted in Pearland, Texas. Joe served in the United States Navy as a cryptologist from 1962-1968. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1971 at the top of his class with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Since 1972 he has been the co-owner of Profax in Pearland, Texas as well as numerous subsidiaries worldwide. Joe is survived by the love of his life, Sandy Alvarez, his daughters, Shauna Vowell and husband Travis, and Sharla Alvarez; parents Annie Faye and Joe Alvarez; sister Susie Koza and husband / business partner Jerry; sister-in-law Carolyn and brother-in-law/cousin Larry Alvarez; nephews Gerald Lynn and Jeffrey Koza, and Michael, Matthew, and Thomas Alvarez; all residing in Pearland, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, June 16th, at Niday Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm.
